ABC's

Would you believe that this weekend was the first time we've had to buy diapers since Noah was born?!? We had purchased a few packages before we had him and were given a few from friends. I can't believe how perfect it worked out as we had just enough newborn size and once we finished our last package of size 1 he was ready to move on to the 2's. Perfect!

I've been meaning to post these pictures for quite some time and finally got them transferred off of the camera to do so. My grandmother made this quilt for Noah when he was born. I absolutely love it! And if you know anything about quilts, you know how much time it takes to make them, especially by hand. I really love handmade items. I can remember when I was getting married not only did I anticipate marrying Lucas, but I looked forward to getting the beautiful quilt my grandmother had made for us. They're definitely something our family will pass down and treasure forever. Thank you, Grandma, for all of the love and time you've poured into these quilts for us.

Easter weekend

What a wonderful weekend we had celebrating that HE IS RISEN! The weather was beautiful here and we just spent time doing things together around the house and enjoying the outdoor weather before it gets too hot. Oh, and we had a short visit from our friend Mike. We always love seeing you Mike!

Late Saturday night we decided we wanted to dye Easter eggs. Why hadn't we planned ahead...don't know. However, we discovered we had dye from last year in the pantry and a carton full of eggs waiting to be boiled. Here you have the dull white eggs we started with...


And tada...the colorful eggs we finally ended up with at about 10 p.m. that night.

We definitely weren't all that creative and sort of "rushed" to get it done. But we were happy we did it and I love seeing the bright colors when I open the refrigerator. Next year I'm definitely planning ahead though and you'll be seeing some Martha Stewart worthy eggs.


Here is our Easter photo before heading off to church. Noah was in his cute little outfit from Nana. He didn't wear the hat the entire time but I definitely had to get a pic of him in it for Nana's sake. So cute.

Life:Beautiful

I inherited my mom's love for magazines and couldn't resist purchasing this one I discovered among the grocery store shelves. Yes, I was supposed to be grocery shopping but often times my cart drifts to the magazine aisle before I need to check out. I really enjoy well-designed magazines so this one immediately caught my attention and thought I'd share it with you. It's full of beautiful photography and well-written Christian articles with inspiring scripture flowing through the magazine. Enjoy!

Quality family time

The past two weeks have been filled with visits from family. There is definitely nothing better. We had so much fun catching up with Lucas' brother and sister 'n law for a weekend on their way to San Diego and I love Noah getting to meet the people who love him from afar. We realized it has been over two years since we've seen each other. Way too long. Noah loves to flirt with pretty girls and Rachelle proved this true as he just loved looking at her. We can't wait to see you again!

Then my mom came to visit for a week. Noah has grown and changed so much from her last visit. My mom said it best, "It's always fun to come but sad to leave." So true. Maybe some day we'll live closer. (Notice the cloth diaper in Noah's hand. He doesn't go anywhere without it!)

Boys always need their mamas

The weather has been beautiful here the past few days and this past weekend we went to the Farmer's Market near one of our favorite restaurants, Joesfarmgrill.com, and took Noah in the Baby Bjorn. I usually walk around the neighborhood with him in it facing forward and he absolutely loves looking around.


Today I was putting things away in Noah's room and my eye caught the Baby Bumbo seat we have for him. I began wondering if he would like sitting in it and if he was old enough to and just had to try. He cried at first just because I think he was confused as to what was going on but instantly got wide eyed when he realized he was sitting up by himself. He laughed and loved being a big boy. I have very mixed emotions as Noah gets more and more independent. I love seeing him grow and learn and just being more interactive, and yet at the same time I wonder when he'll stop letting me just hold him. The Lord heard my struggle as I was holding Noah this afternoon and he just fell asleep on my shoulder. Boys always need their mamas. Thank you Lord.

Highlights of our week

What a great week! Here are a few highlights...

Lucas ran in a 10k road race this past Sunday with a friend and did great. We had quite the eventful morning leading up to it though as he was supposed to get up at 6 a.m. and our friends were coming by our house at 7 a.m. to leave for the race. Well, I woke up to Noah calling for us that morning. I looked at the clock and read 6:45 a.m. It took me a second until I realized what had happened and woke Lucas up in a panic. So there we were trying to get all three of us ready to go in 15 minutes...not going to happen. Lucas left for the race while I stayed to feed and get Noah ready for the day. I rushed to get to the race and made it with 6 minutes to spare as Lucas crossed the finish line. I actually teared up when he crossed as I was so thankful to have made it and to have been there to support him.

Noah turned 10 weeks old today. Just a couple of days ago we noticed him talking (and laughing) ALL of the time. Even this morning as he was waking up from sleeping he didn't cry to get up, we just heard him talking to himself.

Another milestone this week was that Noah slept through the night! We were thrilled to wake up at 6a.m. Thursday morning only to realize I hadn't gotten up to feed him that night. He would typically sleep about 7 hours, want to eat and then would sleep for 3-4 more. He's going from 9p.m. to 6a.m. right now. I think I saw the heavens open up and angels singing that morning.

During the day one of our fun things to do is read. Our favorite book right now is the Belly Button book. What a sweet book. I think I already have it memorized.

Happy Valentines Day!

We had Noah's two month appointment today. The doctor says he's doing great and is very healthy. He now weighs 12 lbs. 11oz.(75th percentile) and his length his 23" (50th percentile). We have a break and don't have an appointment for two months now.
