Future sanitation engineer?

We headed to a birthday party this Saturday hosted by one of our friends whose boy turned 2. The party was adorably themed "At the dump" to compliment the birthday boys fascination with all things trash. It was the easiest present I've had to wrap as I simply used a trash bag filled with newspapers and shoved the present in. The wonderful town of Gilbert even showed up with their garbage truck to let the boys check it out. What a fun time! Who needs a fire truck when you can dump trash?

Noah immediately took to being behind the wheel. Had he been given the keys I think he might have driven off.

All of the boys with their matching "I partied at Brady's Dump" shirts.

Lined up to watch the truck in action. Wonder what the neighbors thought???

And even though this post couldn't get any cuter, I must make up for my lack of posts with a video of jumping Noah! Notice he completely ignores me asking him to say bye-bye. I think he's trying to escape the camera in his backwards getaway car.

Bring on the pink!

Yesterday we found out we're going to be adding a little pink to our lives as we're expecting the arrival of a baby girl in November. This is what my heart so desperately desired and I'm so thankful that the Lord has given us a little boy and girl to raise and become a part of our family. Lucas has already let Noah know that Noah will have to be her protector when Daddy isn't nearby. And my dad has already let Lucas know to start saving for a wedding!

I pray for the continued health of our baby girl growing inside of me and that the Lord will continue to prepare us as we enter into parenthood again. We're looking forward to having our family shortly become four and yet I want to cherish these few moments we have with Noah just as a family of three.

Just like Daddy

When Lucas comes home sometimes he lets Noah wear his belt. Noah thinks this is the best thing ever and walks around wearing it proudly.

Artville

We decided to take advantage of the Arizona's Museum for Youth free admission for the first Sunday of every month. I'm so glad we did, and I'm so glad we saved $16.50 on admission. There is a toddler area called Artville that Noah did not want to leave.

We headed to some different areas in Artville which Noah took full advantage of.

He will be making us dinner this week.

Noah refused to go down the slide on his back.

See any resemblance?

Who doesn't love a good puzzle?

And...another update

So I'm a dollar short and a day late but Happy 6th Anniversary to us! We celebrated in style, which at the moment means calling for take-out from one of my favorite restaurants, PF Changs, topped off with our always celebratory Great Wall of Chocolate dessert. Oh so good. We stretch the dessert out over 3 nights so the celebrating continues!

Pregnancy update: I'm into my 16th week and am showing sooner than I did with Noah and feeling the baby sooner too, which is what I was told would happen. I have mixed feelings this time around. While I'm absolutely thrilled to be expecting our second child, it's a totally different experience emotionally. Playing with, or chasing around, a toddler makes me sometimes forget that I'm even pregnant...until I try to fit into my normal jeans...and I'm avoiding figuring out how much weight I've gained. I figure my monthly doctors appointment is good enough to tell me that one. We head for our ultrasound at the end of June which is always exciting.

The house is a mess as we continue to rearrange yet again and empty out our guest bedroom which is where Noah will end up a little bit after the baby is here. I'm excited to begin decorating it as my mind is already flooded with the ideas of what I want to do. Don't think that means there won't be a place if you decide to come visit though. They'll be a full-size bed calling your name!

Summer is heating up...which means hot, hot! I told Lucas I might have to start taking two showers a day pretty soon if I go out. You normally sweat just going out the door, but add being pregnant to that and boy, it's not good.

Lucas has finished up the class he was taking last semester, which means when he is home in the evenings and weekends he is actually home! And not off having to do homework or take a test. I do have to brag that he aced his class. Such a smart boy he is.

And because no blog post is the same without a photo, I thought I'd show you what Noah is getting into these days. See something wrong with this picture? Oh yeah, and sometimes he'll be nice and bring them to us too.

An Update

I've been told that I'm a slacker on updating the good ol' blog lately. So (Mom) here is an update for ya!

One of the main reasons I've been such a slacker is I've been buried under fabric. I'm extremely thankful for the busyness of my fabric shop, but this almost full-time job means making some adjustments as far as how our household is run and improving my time management skills.

We've been spending quite a bit of time outside in the water lately to try to get some exercise before it gets even hotter. Noah loves the outdoor splash pads around the area which makes for a refreshing treat.

Memorial Day weekend was nice and relaxing. Papa came for a visit on his way home from work in California. (Thanks Papa for the loud kazoo...we enjoy it daily!) Then Monday was spent outdoors again in our back yard enjoying our own little splash pad.

Lucas helped vacuum the stairs and Noah wants to be just like him. It melts my heart. Noah dragged his little lawn mower up the stairs while Lucas was vacuuming and started moving it back and forth on the landing.
